Enchanting Indochina awaits for all travelers coming to discovering its three amazing countries: Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. This classic 15-day trip may be the best for those who want to get an insight in the region. Arriving in Vietnam, take the opportunity to visit Sapa in the Northwest. The region is so diverse that you can immediately find the beautiful changes in landscapes from one trekking route to another. We also cannot miss a wonderful cruise on Halong Bay – one of the World Natural Heritage Sites.
Flying to Laos, you will be surprised at Luang Prabang, a wonderful patchwork of traditional Lao wooden houses and hints of European architecture. Golden-roofed temples, decorated with mosaics and murals of the life of Buddha are the places that you cannot ignore once visiting Laos. Admire the two most famous city of Cambodia, namely Siem Reap (with splendorous Angkor Temples) and Phnom Penh, then flight to the South of Vietnam where we have a city tour around Saigon and amazing boat trip in the Mekong Delta. Tropical orchards, bee farm, rice paddy fields, coconut candy workshop and many other attractions are waiting for you!
DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL – NIGHT TRAIN
Upon arrival at Noibai International airport, our representative will meet and transfer you to downtown. Hanoi, a city of lakes, shaded boulevards and verdant public parks – the capital of Vietnam. The rest of day will be free at your own leisure.
APT’s bus and staff will pick you up at your hotel or APT’s office at 19:30 then transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train to Sapa. Overnight on the train.
DAY 2: LAO CAI – SAPA (B/L/D)
Arrive at Lao Cai railway station early in the morning then transfer to Sapa (1 hour), home to numerous colorful hill tribes (Black H'mong, Flower H'mong, Red Dao) and to Vietnam’s highest peak: Mount Fansipan.
Breakfast at local restaurant with Vietnamese Pho noodles then walking tour to visit local market. Check-in hotel at noon.
We embark on a lovely walking tour to the hill tribe village of Cat Cat, home of the H'Mong hill tribe minority people. As we walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa we will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. Here we have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with families that live in the area. Walk back to Sapa town and visit its local market. Dinner at your hotel. Overnight in Sapa.
DAY 3: SAPA TREKKING – LAO CAI – NIGHT TRAIN TO HANOI (B/L/D)
After breakfast, spend a full day of visit in the surroundings of Sapa: You will commence your journey from Sapa by bus to Lao Chai village, a Black Hmong ethnic minority village.
You will then be able to walk from Lao Chai to Tavan village where the Giay ethnic minority hill tribe lives. Here you will be able to rest and enjoy a picnic lunch on spot.
After lunch, you walk to a road where the bus is ready for your journey back to Sapa. Free at leisure in Sapa till transferring to Lao Cai Train station at 17:00 and take the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on the train.
DAY 4: HALONG BAY (B/L/D)
AM: Arrive Hanoi early in the morning (at approx 04:30 – 05:00 a.m). Our bus and staff will pick you up at Train Station and drive to hotel in Hanoi for breakfast (No room this morning). You are free at leisure till
07:45 - 08:30 Tour guide and shuttle bus of Ha Long Dragon Cruise pick you up then take 3.5 hour drive to Ha Long. Have a break 20 minutes en-route to free your legs.
12:15 Embark Bai Chay harbor, get transferred to Dragon Cruise by a tender and enjoy a welcome drink.
13:00 Receive a cruise briefing. Savor delicious lunch while cruising among wonderful limestone islands.
14:30 Visit Sung Sot “amazing” cave, the most beautiful with millions of surprising stalactites and stalagmites
15:30 Stop at Ti Top Island one hour for swimming, sun-bathing or photographing of Ha Long at island peak.
16:30 Do kayaking among hidden parts and around Bo Nau cave to discover mysterious beauty of Ha Long.
17:30 Drop anchor in a calm water area, rest on the sundeck to enjoy Ha Long views at sunset.
19:00 Have a delectable dinner in cozy restaurant of Dragon Cruise in the middle of the bay.
20:00 Entertain evening by karaoke singing or try your luck doing squid-fishing. Overnight on Superior Dragon Cruise.
DAY 5: HALONG BAY – HANOI (B/L)
07:30 Enjoy the morning landscape with complimentary tea and coffee served, photograph nice pictures.
08:00 Experiencing unforgettable memory passing through “tunnel cave” to a secluded lake.
09:30 Check out your cabin. Relax on sundeck for sun-bathing, photo hunting while sailing back to the harbor.
11:30 Leave Dragon Cruise, have a short rest and take a bus drive to a local restaurant for lunch.
13:30 Say goodbye to Ha Long bay then return to Hanoi. Have a rest en-route again to free your legs.
17:30 Get dropped off at your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.
DAY 6: HANOI – LUANG PRABANG (B) BY FLIGHT
Breakfast at your hotel. Free time untill transfer to airport to flight Luang Prabang.
On arrival at Luangphrabang Airport, you will met and transferred to your chosen hotel. then have lunch. In the afternoon you will visit Wat Xienthong the most beautiful temple in town build dating back to the 16th entury. You will also stop at Wat Visoun and the Melon stupa next to Wat Aham, then leisurely climb up Mount Phousi to catch the sunset and on the way back visit the famous colorful night market. Overnight at your hotel.
DAY 7: SIGHTSEEING AROUND LUANG PRABANG (B)
Today we start a full day city tour starting in the morning after breakfast embarking for a slow boat trip to Pak Ou cave 32km up-river and along the way stop to visit the Lao whisky village and see the process how villagers make the potent Lau Lao (rice whisky) then continue on board to the cave where a thousand budha images are kept. After visiting the cave back downstream to Luangphrabang for a typical Lao lunch. After lunch drive 29Km through the dense forest to visit the world famous Kuangsi waterfall with a stop en route at colorful ethnic Hmong village. On the way back stop by by Ban Xangkhong (weaving village & Mulberry paper village) then transfer back to your hotel.
DAY 8: LUANG PRABANG – SIEAM REAP BY FLIGHT (B/L/D) Departure at 14:15pm
Meet and greet on arrival at Siem Reap, welcome then transfer to check in. Relax at hotel. You will be picked up by tour guide at noon for lunch at local restaurant. After lunch transfer to visit ARTISAN D’ANGKOR. The Handicraft center. A short stop at WAT THMEY or Killing Field, contains a unique glass-walled stupa containing the bones of victims of the Khmer Rouge. Then, stop at the WAR MEMORIAL MONUMENT, it is dedicated to those who sacrificed their lives in the civil war. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Siem Reap.
DAY 9: SIEM REAP /ANGKOR THOM, TA PROHM , ANGKOR WAT, BAKHENG
Morning after breakfast, we visit THE SOUTH GATE OF ANGKOR THOM including BAYON TEMPLE , unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara. THE ROYAL ENCLOSURE PHIMEANAKAS, BAPOUN TEMPLE, THE ELEPHANT TERRACE and THE TERRACE OF THE LEPER KING. Next visit: THOMMANAN, CHAOSAY TEVODA, TA KEO small, attractive temple in very good condition, built at the same time as Angkor Wat. We continue fabulous TA PROHM One of the most popular temples, this sprawling complex is famous for its jungle-like, ruined atmosphere, and the giant trees which rise from the stone, gripping the temple in their extensive roots. Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon visit: ANGKOR WAT The “7th Wonders’ of the World”. Sunset viewing on top of BAKHENG HILL. Bakheng is the first major temple to be constructed in the Angkor area, this temple-mountain offers extraordinary views of the Tonle Sap and Angkor Wat. Buffet dinner with traditional show at local restaurant, one hour stop visit NIGHT MARKET & PUB STREET, overnight in Siem Reap.
DAY 10: SIEM REAP - PHNOM PENH /ROYAL PALACE, WAT PHNOM, NAGA CASINO
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Phnom Penh by express coach. Arrival Phnom Penh, meet and greet. Lunch at local restaurant and check in to hotel. After taking little rest, will be accompanied by our tour guide to visit: ROYAL PALACE, SILVER PAGODA and WAT PHNOM. DAY 11: PHNOM PENH - HO CHI MINH (B) by flight
Today bid farewell to Cambodia. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure flight to Saigon.
Welcome to Saigon! You will be met at the airport and transferred to hotel in Sai Gon. After checking into the hotel, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy. Sai Gon is a bustling, dynamic and industrious centre, the largest city in the country, the economic capital and the cultural trendsetter. Yet within the teeming metropolis are the timeless traditions and beauty of an ancient culture. Overnight in Saigon.
DAY 12: SAIGON FULL DAY CITY TOUR (B)
Start the City tour to visit the main attractions of Ho Chi Minh city, the largest and busiest city of the country. We come to see the Reunification Palace (also known as Independence Palace). It is one of the most fascinating sights in Saigon and was once the symbol of the South Vietnamese government. Proceed to visit Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Post Office, Jade Emperor Pagoda and War Remnants Museum.
In the afternoon, we will go to China-town to see the bustling and busy Cho Lon market. This market place has an amazing array of local and imported goods and food products at bargainable prices. On the way back, we will visit the Thien Hau Temple. Overnight in Saigon.
DAY 13: CAO DAI TEMPLE AND CU CHI TUNNEL (B)
Depart from the hotel at 08:00 am. Enjoy a morning drive through typical southern Vietnamese countryside to Tay Ninh province in the west of Ho Chi Minh City. We visit the incredible Great Temple of Cao Dai with its unusual and fanciful architecture, where all the major faith of the world blends together in a unique religious cocktail. Everyday at noon a ceremony is held, which is open to visitors.
In the afternoon we proceed to Cu Chi to visit the legendary underground network of tunnels built by the Vietcong during the American War. You will creep in to the tunnel to experience how the Viet Cong lived underground. Head back to Saigon at 17:00. Overnight in Saigon.
DAY 14: MEKONG DELTA – MY THO (B/L)
Pick up at hotel and departure for Mekong delta trip. This trip provides a look at a wide variety of the life and scenery of the Delta. On the way you can see green rice paddy fields stretching towards the horizon. After 70km driving, we arrive in My Tho, a private boat trip takes us to Ben Tre. Walking on land and exploring local life and then we’ll visit the local coconut-candy workshop. Lunch at local restaurant.
After lunch, we’ll enjoy the local tropical fruits, folk music and see how they look after their honey bee farm. Afternoon, our boat takes us back My Tho where we meet our bus again for a 2 hour drive back Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.
DAY 15: SAIGON DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast at hotel then transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for departure flight. End of trip!
